Teach pendant programming

Creating a New FANUC TP Program

For an operator or technician starting a new FANUC teach pendant (TP) program for a task the robot has not performed before.

Open the program directory

On the pendant, press MENU and choose SELECT to view the list of existing programs.

Create a new program

Press F2 CREATE and enter a clear, descriptive program name that follows the documented naming rules.

Set program attributes

Open the program detail screen and configure the documented fields: Sub Type (None, Job, Process, Macro, or Cond), Comment, Group Mask, Write protect, Ignore pause, and Stack size.

Open the program for editing

Enter the new empty program to begin adding instructions.

Add an initial safe position

Teach a home or safe starting position as the first motion instruction so the program always begins from a known pose.

Save the program

Save the program after the initial setup so the framework is preserved before adding further logic.
