External I/O Terminal Block
Provides the physical connection point where field wiring from cell equipment lands before reaching the controller's I/O board.
The external I/O terminal block is where individual field wires from sensors, actuators, and interlocks are landed and organized before their signals reach the I/O board inside the controller, making it the practical boundary between cabinet wiring and cell wiring.
Because every field connection passes through this point, it is one of the first places technicians check when troubleshooting a signal that appears missing or intermittent at the controller.
Loose terminal screws are the most common issue found here, often the result of vibration over time rather than a poor original installation, which is why periodic torque checks are part of routine cabinet maintenance.
