J4 Axis Reducer

Provides the gear reduction and torque multiplication for forearm rotation about its long axis.

The J4 axis reducer converts motor speed into the torque needed to rotate the forearm about its long axis, carrying the wrist unit and its motors along with it.

Because this axis often rotates continuously in applications like sealant dispensing or spray painting, the reducer and its seals see more sustained motion than reducers on axes that mostly oscillate back and forth.

Grease migration toward the wrist end of the forearm is a common finding during service on robots that run this axis through continuous rotation cycles.
