Teach Pendant Cable

Connects the teach pendant to the controller, carrying communication data and hardwired safety signals.

The teach pendant cable is a coiled, extendable cable running between the pendant and a dedicated port on the controller, carrying both general communication data and the hardwired safety signals for the deadman switch and pendant e-stop button.

Because operators walk around the cell with the pendant in hand, this cable stretches, twists, and gets stepped on more than almost any other cable in the system, making it one of the most frequently replaced parts in a cell.

A damaged conductor in the safety-critical portion of this cable can prevent the robot from running at all, since the controller treats a broken safety signal the same as an active stop condition.
