Gluing
Gluing robots apply adhesive between two components ahead of a bonding or assembly step, similar to dispensing but focused on structural or semi-structural joints.
The robot lays adhesive along a joint path using a valve-controlled applicator, timed so the parts can be mated while the adhesive is still within its open working time.
Viscosity varies by adhesive type, and the dispense valve and path speed need tuning for each material to avoid a bead that is too thin to bond properly or too thick to close the joint gap.
Purge and cleaning stations keep the applicator tip clear between cycles, since dried adhesive on the tip degrades bead quality on the next part.
