Painting
Robotic painting applies liquid coatings with a spray gun mounted on a purpose-built paint robot, standard in automotive and appliance finishing lines.
The robot moves a spray gun through a programmed path at controlled distance and speed from the part surface, producing an even coat that would be hard to repeat manually across thousands of parts.
Paint robots are built differently from general industrial arms. They use explosion-proof motors and electronics rated for the solvent atmosphere in a paint booth, and route fluid lines through a hollow wrist.
Purge air systems keep paint and solvent out of the robot's internal cavities, and the booth environment itself needs airflow and IP protection matched to the coating being applied.
