SICK 2D and 3D vision sensors, including the Visionary series, used for robot guidance, volume measurement, and object detection.
SICK's vision portfolio spans simple 2D smart cameras up to Visionary-T 3D time-of-flight sensors, giving a robot cell depth information without the higher cost of a full structured-light scanner. The 3D units are common for pallet and container detection where exact part orientation matters less than overall shape and position.
Because SICK also supplies safety scanners and industrial sensors, some plants standardize on the brand across both vision and safety to simplify spare parts and service contracts.
Integration typically goes through Ethernet-based protocols, with results passed as coordinates or region data that the robot controller consumes directly or through a PLC intermediary.
