Zivid 3D

High-resolution color 3D camera used for bin picking and precise part localization where standard 2D vision cannot resolve depth or orientation.

Zivid cameras capture dense color point clouds in a single exposure, giving a robot cell enough detail to locate randomly oriented parts in a bin or on a pallet. The color data helps distinguish parts that have similar shapes but different surface markings or textures.

Point cloud output typically feeds a third-party bin-picking software layer, such as a pick-and-place engine from the robot vendor or an independent vendor, which calculates grasp points and orientation before sending a target pose to the robot.

Capture time and point cloud density are higher than a typical 2D camera, so cycle time impact needs to be checked against the line's takt time target.
