Cable Dress Pack

Bundles and routes power, feedback, and utility cabling along the arm while managing bend and twist at each joint.

The cable dress pack bundles the motor power cables, encoder cables, and any pneumatic or utility lines into a single routed assembly that follows the arm from base to wrist, engineered to manage bend radius and strain at every joint the robot moves through.

Because it flexes with every motion of the robot, the dress pack is one of the highest-wear items on the arm, and manufacturers typically rate it for a certain number of duty cycles or years before scheduled replacement.

External dress packs mounted along the outside of the arm are easier to inspect and replace than internally routed cabling, which is a design tradeoff robot makers weigh differently across models.
