Robot Flange

Provides the standardized mounting interface at the wrist for attaching end-of-arm tooling.

The robot flange is the precisely machined mounting face at the very end of the wrist, built to a standard bolt pattern and pilot diameter so tooling and tool changers from different suppliers can be mounted with a known, repeatable reference.

Every tool center point calculation the controller makes starts from this flange's position, so any wear, damage, or looseness here propagates directly into the accuracy of whatever tool is attached.

Because it takes the brunt of any tooling-side collision, the flange and its immediately surrounding wrist structure are common damage points on robots working close to fixtures or parts.
