Tool Changer Tool-Side Unit

Provides the passive coupling surface mounted to an end effector for docking with the robot's tool changer master unit.

The tool-side unit mounts to each individual end effector and provides the passive coupling surface the robot's master unit locks onto, along with matching utility pass-through connections for that specific tool.

Because a cell may have several tools each fitted with their own tool-side unit sitting in a rack, these units are inspected as a set, since a damaged one can affect coupling repeatability even when the master unit on the robot is in good condition.

Dropped or mishandled tools in the rack are a common source of damage to this unit, since it takes an impact any time the tool itself is set down or bumped.
