Choose the backup destination

Automatic Backup writes to the memory card (MC:) or the internal backup area (FRA:). You can also set USB (UD1:/UT1:) as the '2 Device' field to retrieve data later. Automatic Backup can't target a network share, FTP, or TFTP location.

Caution: Don't try to point Automatic Backup at a network drive. TFTP is only used by the separate cold-start Image Backup function, not by scheduled Automatic Backup.

Open the auto-backup settings

On the pendant, open the AUTO BACKUP setting screen and review items 1 through 15.

Enable and pick the device

Turn Automatic Backup on and set the device to MC: or FRA:. Set a subdirectory if you want to separate this robot's backups.

Set the schedule

Configure Backup Time 1 through 5, Backup at Power up, and the Interval as needed. The controller will run an 'all backup' from the File menu automatically at those times.

Set the retention limit

Configure the Maximum number of versions between 1 and 99 so old backups roll off instead of filling the device.

Save the configuration

Confirm the settings so the schedule becomes active.

Verify the first backup

Wait for the next scheduled run or trigger one, then confirm a new backup version appears on MC: or FRA:.
