J1 Base Bearing

Supports the swivel base's rotation on the fixed base casting while carrying the full weight and dynamic load of the arm above it.

The J1 base bearing supports the swivel base as it rotates relative to the fixed base casting, carrying both the full weight of the arm structure above it and the dynamic loads generated during base rotation moves.

Because of its size and load, this bearing is typically a large-diameter cross-roller or four-point contact type, built into or closely integrated with the J1 axis reducer assembly on many robot designs.

Wear here develops slowly given the bearing's size and load rating, but once play develops it affects the accuracy of every axis above it, since the whole arm pivots on this single interface.
