SRVO-170: Lack of DSP

The axis control card doesn't have enough DSP processors for the configured number of axes - a configuration-versus-hardware mismatch, usually surfacing after axes were added.

What it means

The axis control card doesn't have enough DSP processors for the configured number of axes - a configuration-versus-hardware mismatch, usually surfacing after axes were added.

Common causes

Ranked by what technicians most often find, most likely first.

  1. Software axis configuration (FSSB line numbers) claiming more axes than the card supports.
  2. Axis card undersized for the system.
  3. Missing auxiliary axis board.

How to fix it

  1. Check the software axis config, especially FSSB line numbers.
  2. If the config is right, the hardware is short: replace the axis card with one carrying enough DSPs, or add an auxiliary axis board.
