SRVO-253: Amp internal over heat

Overheat detected inside the servo amplifier - and unlike the OHAL alarms with their cooling checklists, this one goes straight to replacement: the heat is internal to the unit.

What it means

Overheat detected inside the servo amplifier - and unlike the OHAL alarms with their cooling checklists, this one goes straight to replacement: the heat is internal to the unit.

Common causes

Ranked by what technicians most often find, most likely first.

  1. Internal amplifier overheat/fault.

How to fix it

  1. Replace the servo amplifier with the controller de-energized and locked out, then power-cycle to clear.
  2. Cabinet cooling is still worth a glance. A cooked amplifier in a hot cabinet will be followed by another.
