FANUC iRVision

FANUC's built-in vision system that runs directly on the R-30iB controller for 2D and 3D guidance, inspection, and bin picking.

iRVision runs inside the robot controller rather than on a separate PC, so camera calibration, vision processes, and robot motion share the same programming environment. That tight coupling simplifies setup for straightforward pick-and-place and part-location tasks.

The system supports single and multiple 2D cameras for conveyor tracking and part finding, plus 3D options like area sensors and laser displacement sensors for bin picking and depth-sensitive guidance. Vision results feed directly into robot target positions without a separate translation layer.

Because iRVision is FANUC-specific, it only works with FANUC controllers. Mixed-fleet cells with other robot brands typically pair a FANUC arm with iRVision and use a separate vision package for other robots.

Common questions

What does FANUC iRVision do?
FANUC's built-in vision system that runs directly on the R-30iB controller for 2D and 3D guidance, inspection, and bin picking.
What does FANUC iRVision work with?
It works with FANUC R 30iB, Cognex In Sight cameras, 2D area cameras, 3D laser sensors.
What should I watch for with FANUC iRVision?
Locked to FANUC controllers, no cross-brand support. Calibration accuracy depends on camera mounting rigidity. 3D options add meaningful cost over 2D-only setups.
