Air Line Swivel

Allows a pneumatic line to transmit pressure across a continuously rotating wrist axis without twisting the hose.

An air line swivel is a small rotary union spliced into a pneumatic line at a point where it crosses a wrist axis capable of continuous rotation, allowing the hose upstream to stay untwisted while the downstream side rotates freely with the tool.

Without this fitting, an air line routed across a continuously rotating axis would eventually wind up and either restrict flow or fatigue and fail at the point of maximum twist.

Internal seal wear inside the swivel from constant rotation is the main wear mechanism, and a leaking swivel shows up as reduced actuation pressure or speed at the tool rather than a sudden loss of function.
