SRVO-171: MotorSpd lim/DVC

Warning: the motor was about to exceed its speed limit and got clamped.

What it means

Warning: the motor was about to exceed its speed limit and got clamped. Motion continues at the clamp - but the manual adds a caution SRVO-026 doesn't have: if the motion vibrates, slow it down, because running against the clamp can damage the mechanicals.

Common causes

Ranked by what technicians most often find, most likely first.

  1. Programmed motion demanding more than the motor's maximum speed for the axis.

How to fix it

  1. The clamp protects the motor automatically - but if the clamped motion shows vibration, reduce programmed speed; sustained operation against the limit with vibration risks mechanical damage.
  2. Recurring on one move means the path is forcing that joint too hard - consider re-posing.
