What it means

FUSE4 - protecting the +24V feeding the end-effector interface - has blown. Prime suspect: a short in the robot connection or end-effector cabling, i.e., out at the tooling where cables take abuse.

Common causes

Ranked by what technicians most often find, most likely first.

  1. RI/O or 24VR shorted to 0V in the robot connection cable or end-effector cable - gripper wiring damage is the classic.
  2. Main board fault (after image backup).
  3. Interface unit.

How to fix it

  1. With the controller de-energized and locked out, inspect the robot connection and end-effector cables end to end, flex points and the dress-out near the wrist first, and replace any damaged cable.
  2. Take an image backup with the controller powered, then de-energize and apply lockout/tagout again before replacing the main board.
  3. With the controller de-energized and locked out, replace the interface unit last.
