What it means
Chain fault on channel 1 of the external emergency stop (EXEMG) input - the two redundant external E-stop channels disagree.
Common causes
Ranked by what technicians most often find, most likely first.
- Miswiring of the EXEMG signal - the classic integrator wiring error on external E-stop chains.
- One-channel contact fault in an external E-stop device.
How to fix it
- With the controller de-energized and locked out, audit the external E-stop wiring on both channels through every device in the chain, and repair it per the maintenance manual with the controller still de-energized and locked out.
- After the repair, run the chain release: press and release an E-stop button on the pendant or operator panel, press F4 'RES_1CH' on the Alarm ACTIVE screen [4 Alarm / ACTIVE], then press RESET.
